Join the Chamberlain Forum, Councillor John Cotton (Birmingham City Council Shadow Cabinet member for Local Services and Community Safety) and other guests for a discussion of the future of localisation and devolution in Birmingham.
We’ll be looking at how devolution of decision making and the localisation of services in Birmingham could be revitalised in the context of: neighbourhood planning and community budgeting; the Localism Act; community organising, and an increased awareness of how community groups contribute to local well-being. What are the roles for councillors and for community groups including neighbourhood forums?
The meeting is at Stanhope Hall in Highgate – a local community centre in inner city Birmingham which acts as a hub for a wide range of community activities.
The meeting is free, but please book places in advance.
